"Government of the People..." Cartoon of the Day

What used to be the "Party of Lincoln" some 50 years ago has devolved into a sad replica of the Confederacy, with all of its prejudices, hatred of the Federal system and anti-democratic impulses.

The main political fight now is between the "establishment" Rethugs and the crazies of the Tea Party movement, who have deluded themselves into thinking (thanks to wealthy right-wingers and Fux "News") that they represent "the people."  Nothing could be further from the truth.
