Exposing the Rethugs

The sickness at the heart of the Rethuglican/New Confederate Party is exemplified by the relentless, cynical obstruction of everything that would help repair the damage that their misrule caused. From opposing the original stimulus (despite including billions in tax cuts), health insurance reform (despite runaway health care costs for the middle class), and the financial reform bill (only months after a near-collapse due to unregulated risk-taking), the Rethugs' record is abysmal. President Obama took to the Rose Garden today to blast them for their most recent obstruction of unemployment benefits, and their desire to extend Dumbya's tax cuts for the wealthy.

Most Americans are, as Paul Krugman noted today, misinformed about the state of affairs, and understandably busy making a living and trying to make ends meet. But Dems need to seize the opportunity given them by Rethugs who are revealing their true nature: apologizing to BP, calling the financial crisis an "ant" and caring more about tax cuts for Pills Limpballs than keeping people in their homes.
