Wanker of the Week - Pseudo-Democrat Edition

Move over, Mayor Booker! We have a new pseudo-Democrat in the slimy tradition of Sens. Ben "Dover" Nelson and Joe "I Don't Know If I'll Vote for Obama" Manchin, and ex-Sen. Blanche Lincoln, etc., ad nauseam, who place their opportunist ambition over loyalty to the leader of their party and their party's principles. Our Wanker of the Week's name is Heidi Heitkamp, recipient of the first ad buy by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (!!). Let the inscription on her Wanker Award read:

Heidi Heitkamp, a former North Dakota attorney general seeking to replace the retiring Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), told the AP that Obama has "failed in the one test America had for him, which was to unite the country.""I think he needed to be more hands-on... I don't think he's done enough to think broadly and come up with solutions that would engage both sides in a reasonable dialogue," she added. (via Charles P. Pierce)

Apparently, Ms. Heitkamp has been in a coma since January 2009, or she is ignorant, or she is simply playing to the ignorance and bias of her Fox "News"-fed audience (ding-ding!). This is why we don't give to blanket organizations like the DSCC or its House counterpart, the DCCC. They give funds to anyone who calls themself a Democrat, regardless of their fidelity to the party and its leader. We prefer direct contributions to worthy progressives like Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Sherrod Brown. Just sayin'.

(Post Election Update: See our heroine in action on the talk shows, providing her Rethuglican-lite wisdom 4 days (!) after being sworn into office.
