Gun Nuts Acting Out

For decades, the National Rifle Rampage Association's operating model has been to whip up paranoia and anger among its membership and among the more unstable members of society with the message that their guns will be confiscated by the Government.  Some of their efforts are bearing fruit:  the recent threatening letters laced with poisonous Ricin that were sent to gun safety advocate Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his organization were similar to one sent to the President.  All of the letters raged against imaginary plans that the Government has to confiscate guns (if that doesn't sound like an NRA mailing, what does?), and threatened to shoot anyone "in the face" that would come to take their guns away.

A majority of NRA members favored the background checks legislation that the NRA's leadership opposed, despite flagrant lies and distortions spread by the organization about the legislation.  But their message is resonating with the unstable, black helicopter nuts, who continue to stockpile guns much to the delight of the NRA's only true client:  the gun manufacturers.
