Quote of the Day
"It’s no surprise then that the United States has at least three times more billionaires on the Forbes list than any other country. But make no mistake, that’s not necessarily a reflection of the United States leading the globe on corporate innovation and ingenuity. We have rigged the rules of the game in the United States to disproportionately benefit the rich and the super-rich— and we are exporting that rigged system around the globe." -- Sally Kohn writing in the Daily Beast. She points to statistics that the combined wealth of the bottom half of the world's population -- some 3.5 billion people -- is equal to the wealth of the top 85 billionaires. Her article is worth the read.
