The Plum Line's Paul Waldman makes a valid point about the right-wing's knee-jerk "outrage" over gubmint waste, but only when that spending is on the civilian side of the ledger. The story a few years ago about "$16 muffins" at a Department of Justice conference is a case in point. However, giant defense contractors apparently don't merit the spotlight of the Fux Channel and the rest of the Wingnut Wurlitzer because….uh….freedumb! (Also, Beltway reporters can understand muffins better than contractor invoices, which are too much work and not tasty).
Waldman references a story about $100 million in questionable billing by Northrup Grumman, including an enterprising employee that billed 100 hours per day to the Government contract. We guarantee that if this were someone getting an extra Social Security check, or more than their share of food stamps, the Fuxers would be on it like white on black people. Read the article for an explanation of why the right-wing and their media enablers won't find this contractor fraud compelling news.
