Mid-Week Song
"Black Balloon," a 1999 hit recording from the Goo Goo Dolls, was their fourth, and had the melancholy theme of witnessing a loved one with a heroin addiction and not being able to stop her. The band's heavily involved in philanthropy, from autism research and emergency shelters for runaways, to Parkinsons disease and feeding the poor through their generous support of USA Harvest. Good guys one and all.
