Carson's Religious Test

In the wake of narcissist vulgarian Donald "Rump" Trump's acceptance of a wingnut follower's rabid Islamophobia last week, it was only a matter of time before Rump's companion in nuttiness Dr. Ben "Off Meds?" Carson weighed in on the proper place of American Muslims.  Here's the Conzitushunal expert himself weighing in on whether he thinks a Muslim should be allowed to be President:

"I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that."

Aside from the fact that Article VI of the Constitution expressly says "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States," it's richly ironic that a man whose ancestors were denied basic human rights, including the right to vote or hold office, would voice such a bigoted and ignorant opinion about another minority.
