Pic of the Day

U.S. Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel after her win in the 100 meter freestyle event, making her the first African-American woman to win gold in an Olympic swimming event. The 20 year-old Houston native, who shares the gold with Canadian Penny Oleksiak after their tie, also won a silver medal in the 4x400 meter relay event. Incredible athletic ability, and heart.

Here's to demolishing another racial barrier in sports, and to all those African-American kids who refused to believe that some sports were not suited to them.
