Strike In Philadelphia Ends

Last week, we wrote about one of those seemingly isolated events that, when looked at more closely, would have a big impact on the elections: the transport workers' strike in Dem-heavy Philadelphia. Since many thousands of Philadelphians rely on public transportation to get to the polls, that strike would have had a serious impact on voters -- especially since Pennsylvania doesn't permit early voting.

Today, it was announced that the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority reached an agreement on a contract with the local Transport Workers Union, ending the strike that would have had serious consequences on Election Day in a key city in a key state that Secretary Clinton (and down-ballot Dems) need to win tomorrow. So, a win for the union and a win for Dems.
