"Uncomfortable Silence" Won't Cut It Anymore (UPDATED)

Popular vote loser and pathological liar Donald "Rump" Trump met with a group of ten Senate Rethuglicans and Dems ostensibly to "listen" to them about his nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. As is typical of Rump's unstable personality, he veered off into a delusional rant about voters being bused in to New Hampshire to cast ballots against him and Republican Kelly Ayotte (who is shepherding Gorsuch through the Senate), and to mock Sen. Elizabeth Warren's Native American heritage by referring to her repeatedly by his derogatory term "Pocahontas." According to Politico:
"The president claimed that he and Ayotte both would have been victorious in the Granite State if not for the 'thousands' of people who were 'brought in on buses' from neighboring Massachusetts to 'illegally' vote in New Hampshire. According to one participant who described the meeting, 'an uncomfortable silence' momentarily overtook the room.[snip]
During the meeting, Trump also reacted to Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren being silenced on the Senate floor while trying to read a 1986 letter by Coretta Scott King and in objection to Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions before he was confirmed as attorney general. According to participants in Thursday’s meeting, Trump referred to Warren several times as 'Pocahontas,' the moniker he gave her during his campaign, and told the Democrats he was glad Warren is becoming the face of 'your party.'” (emphasis added)
In attendance were ConservaDems Joe "Coal" Manchin (WV), Heidi "Ho" Heitkamp (ND), and Joe Donnelly (IN) , accompanied by somewhat more mainstream Dems Chris Coons (DE), Michael Bennet (CO), and Jon Tester (MT). Regardless of where they stand on the ideological spectrum, after Rump lied to their faces about the vote in New Hampshire, and when he mocked their colleague Sen. Warren with a racial epithet, they should have excused themselves and left the meeting en masse. "Uncomfortable silence" won't cut it anymore in dealing with this delusional demagogue, especially from the Dems we elect.

UPDATE:  Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) says just what we would have wanted him to say to his fellow Dems who have yet to find their spines.

I'm nearly speechless. And terribly disappointed in that bunch of amoral weenies. Who will be the first to call for impeachment. They can get him on sooo many issues, why don't they start that ball rolling????? My next email will be to Sen. Warren. P.E.C.

Trump was testing their spines, and found them lacking. As he continues to break the law / violate the Constitution, some action to remove him must be initiated -- but probably not by the cowards in that room. Thanks, P.E.C.
