I read blogs every day, and I can't remember a day like today. The news items are coming in so quickly it's impossible to keep up, much less process all of it.

The SOTU and all the feedback and lies to unpack and sort

The train/truck crash near Charlottesville, of all places, with a trainload of Republicans headed for a luxury retreat at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. And it's being labeled a kamikaze mission by rightwing cuckoobirds. Sadly, the truck driver was killed.

The “retirement” of pointy-headed Trey Gowdy, king of the Benghazi investigations

The FBI standing up to the release of The Memo

Nunes as a Useful Fool being played by Trumpists with the Memo as a blackmail tool

I can't even.

By tomorrow there will undoubtedly be more crap to sift through. My brain hurts!

donnah - we know the feeling. It's almost too much to absorb, so we try to pick and choose among the many insane goings-on and toss in an occasional bit of reality to leaven things.

FM - 4 pages sounds like 3 and a half pages more than the Very Stable Genius can handle.

I think you do a great job getting the key stories posted. That's why I'm glad I found this place! It's a nice island in the ocean of crap we are swimming in these days.

If we don't keep boosting each other up, there will be a landslide of despair. We have to keep moving forward!

Things certainly do move fast. The Republicans' golem / memo has apparently turned on its creators even before being formally unleashed against their enemies. This administration exists in a state of permanent fiasco.

I can understand why Gowdy decided to retire, and why so many others have. If the train crash was a kamikaze mission, most likely it was an effort by the Republicans on board to seppuku their way out of the ongoing humiliation.

donnah - thanks! We're glad you found us, too.

Infidel - when you're an incompetent, like Nunes and his White House co- conspirators are, the lies and alibis fall apart faster than you can say "treason." Also, I believe it was either Wittes or Bharara who said no one wins a leak war with the FBI.
