Rump's DACA Dream Dead....For Now

Today's rebuff of sociopathic bigot Donald "Rump" Trump by the Supreme Court over ending DACA protections will assure that, for now, dreamers can continue to apply for renewal applications beyond Rump's self-imposed deadline of March 5. Rump created the problem last fall when he maliciously established March 5 as the termination of DACA protections for hundreds of thousands of dreamers who were brought here by their undocumented parents as children.

Rump had tried to circumvent the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in going directly to the Supreme Court to force DACA to terminate on March 5, arguing that President Obama had instituted dreamer protections illegally. Federal District Judge William Alsup had earlier ruled to the contrary. Now, the question goes to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which is expected to uphold Judge Alsup's ruling (which is why Rump's minions tried to go around them). The bottom line is that it will take months -- perhaps a year -- before the case surfaces at the Supreme Court, time for dreamers to apply for renewal applications, and for the rest of us to elect a Dem majority in Congress.
