Former lawyer for unindicted co-conspirator and treasonous con man Donald "Rump" Trump (a.k.a. Individual-1) Michael Cohen says he will testify before the House Oversight Committee on February 7 in regard to their investigation of Rump's illegal activities. Committee chair Elijah Cummings (D-MD) has said Cohen agreed to testify voluntarily and that his Committee was coordinating with Special Counsel Mueller's office so as not to interfere in their ongoing investigations.
In addition to Cohen's insight into hush money payments to Rump's paramours in violation of Federal campaign finance laws, he worked on the scandalous Trump Tower Moscow deal, which Rump initially claimed had ended before it actually had, and he may have information about the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting among Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort and a group of Russian operatives for the purpose of obtaining "dirt" from them on Hillary Clinton. Cohen had a ringside seat for many of Rump's shady dealings, so the Committee's Dems should have a treasure chest to explore.
Bring the popcorn. Lots of it.
There will be plenty of hoops to jump through and red tape galore, but if this happens and Cohen can bring his informative transcripts of his conversations with Trump and others, then this could be a bombshell. A big one.
ReplyDeleteTrump's people are already reminding everyone that Cohen is a known liar and they'll try to discredit him further as well as attempt to block testimony. but if he does get through it all, what a grand story we'll hear!
