According to reports, former White (Supremacist) House counsel Don McGahn was approached by corrupt con man Donald "Not Exonerated" Trump after the redacted Special Counsel's report was released and asked by Trump to say he did not obstruct justice. McGahn refused Trump's request:
"As Trump’s attorneys prepared for the public release of Mueller’s report last month, the White House sought for McGahn to issue a statement making public what he had told Mueller’s team, according to people familiar with the discussions, who, like others commenting for this story, spoke on the condition of anonymity. [snip] But (McGahn's lawyer William) Burck declined on McGahn’s behalf, the people said, because Attorney General William P. Barr had already concluded there was insufficient evidence to accuse the president of criminal obstruction. Burck also concluded that there was no reason for McGahn as a witness to weigh in. [snip] After the report’s release, Trump attacked McGahn on Twitter, and Trump’s attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani began raising questions about McGahn’s credibility and version of events. He told The Washington Post that McGahn would have left the White House if he thought Trump had engaged in a crime.Ah yes, the wise intervention of Rudy "Ghouliani" Giuliani, Trump's befuddled TV lawyer stooge. (More about another adventure of his in a later post). With McGahn likely to receive a subpoena from the House to testify, Burck's saying to the Trump gang, stop messing with my client or you'll see some fireworks when he testifies -- and he will testify.
In an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN, Giuliani said McGahn was “wrong” about what Trump asked him and “hopelessly confused.” [Ed.: now that's rich!]
Amid Giuliani’s public assault on McGahn, Burck contacted the White House to complain that such claims were unwise, according to a person familiar with the discussion." (our emphasis)
