Dem Candidates Put Iowa In Play for 2020

Among Senate Republicans up for re-election in 2020, the most vulnerable ones mentioned are Susan Collins (ME), Cory Gardner (CO) and, lately, Martha McSally (AZ). But with the Trump trade war eating up family farmers across the Midwest, Iowa Senator and Trump loyalist Joni Ernst is looking more and more vulnerable to an upset. She has good reason to worry. Potentially facing her are some strong Dem candidates: Theresa Greenfield and Vice Admiral (ret.) Michael Franken. If their videos announcing their candidacies are any indication, they're each ready for a prime time fight to take Ernst down, depending on who is the eventual nominee.





Things may be looking up in Iowa after all.
