Lou Dobbs Cancelled By Fox

Cue the sad trombones:

Fox News Media has canceled “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” the program hosted by television’s staunchest supporter of Donald Trump and of his assertions of voter fraud in the 2020 election, The Times has learned.

Dobbs’ program, which airs twice nightly at 5 and 7 p.m. Eastern on the Fox Business Network, will have its final airing Friday, according to a Fox News representative who confirmed the cancellation. Starting next week, the program will be called “Fox Business Tonight,” with rotating substitute hosts Jackie DeAngelis and David Asman, who filled in for Dobbs on Friday.

Dobbs, 75, remains under contract at Fox News but he will in all likelihood not appear on the company’s networks again. In addition to his Fox Business Network program, he occasionally turned up on the Fox News Channel as a commentator.

The cancellation comes a day after voting software company Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion defamation suit against Fox News and three of its hosts — Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro. The company claims the hosts perpetuated lies and disinformation about Smartmatic’s role in the election, damaging its business and reputation.

We're certain the lawsuit had nothing to do with the dismissal.

Will he metastasize over to Newsmax or OANN?  We can hardly wait to find out (snark).

Good riddance to the first of what I hope will be many firings at the Propaganda Channel.Old Dobbs has been around a while, and has always been a lying sycophant. I hope he never works again.

Oh no! He was "dads" favorite commentor. Dad loved listening to Rush. Dad liked looking at the blonde News ladies. He thought Hannity was a little greasy. I'm glad he's not here to see this.

My money's on OAN. Pop in law has already moved over there. He finds it "refreshing" to get the unvarnished truth. "Really a shame fox has caved in to the godless liberals. Except for Tucker he is still a voice of reason". Pop in law, mid 80's, Pentecostal, charismatic, prosperity gospel Old Testament country preacher. Just wanted to add those bonafides for background. And cannot sleep without his my pillow.

seafury -- we feel your pain, man! How did you turn out to be a sentient human being?

Part of it is not letting pop have my email. And I'm married to the somewhat sane daughter. For 30 years. The sisters in law are pegged out batshit crazy just like dear old dad.
