A Missouri Republican state representative has been indicted by a Federal grand jury on 20 counts of fraud and related charges for a fake COVID cure. On Wednesday, "Dr." Tricia Derges was asked to step down from her position by the state's House speaker, a Republican, after he stripped her of her committee assignments earlier this week. Derges has refused to step down, saying she'd continue to represent her constituents (and to continue her hustle).
In addition to the fake COVID cure, Derges was also indicted for making false statements to Federal officials, and illegally prescribing drugs to clients. No word on whether Derges obtained her medical degree from Trump University, or whether she was administering injections of Clorox to cure COVID-19.
