Republican Awards Season

No, not the Grammy's or Oscars, or Emmy's.  It's the season for Republicans to honor their seditionists and traitors!

The Righteous Rioter Award:

Jorge Aaron Riley, the Republican activist who is one of three Sacramento-area residents facing charges in the Jan. 6 siege of the U.S. Capitol, was honored this week by the Sacramento Republican Assembly for his long service on the group’s board.

Riley, who won his release from custody last month in Washington, D.C., is featured in a Facebook post saying he was “honored by the Sacramento Republican Assembly (SRA) for serving 11 years on the executive board including being elected to 6 terms as president!” [snip]

Riley, 41, was indicted Feb. 3 by a federal grand jury in Washington on charges of obstructing an official proceeding, entering a restricted building, disorderly conduct and demonstrating in a Capitol building.

He pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for his next court hearing April 21.

Riley was released from custody over the objections of prosecutors, who noted he posted more than 150 messages, photos and videos on social media of his actions on Jan. 6, and that he appeared in a video interview boasting of having pushed his way into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office.

The Greatest of All Time Award:

The Alabama Republican Party will honor former President Trump for being "one of the greatest and most effective presidents in the 245-year history of this Republic," Fox News reported.

At a Saturday evening reception held at Mar-a-Lago, the party will present Trump with a framed resolution that grants him the honor.

"The resolution, basically, it just talks about the greatness of Donald J. Trump, how he made America great again and I hope other states will follow suit," Perry Hooper Jr., a former state representative and a member of the state party's executive committee, told Fox News.

Members of the state's GOP unanimously voted on the resolution, which claims that "President Trump put the American people and the American worker first in all of his decisions."

Of course Mango Mussolini was a great award giver himself, having forever soiled the Medal of Freedom by bestowing it on the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Reps. Jim "Gym" Jordan and Devin Nunes.

Shortly, perhaps, we'll be hearing about awards and honors for other Republican cultural icons like Mr. Potato Head and Pepé Le Pew.
