The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the U.S. economy added a healthy 943,000 new jobs in July, dropping the unemployment rate to 5.4%. June's jobs number was also revised upward to 938,000 new jobs, signaling a continued strong pace of the recovery from the pandemic under the former guy's mismanagement. The economy still needs to add 5.7 million new jobs to get back to pre-pandemic levels.
The biggest gains in employment were seen in the reviving leisure and hospitality market, as more people were vaccinated and restaurants, bars and hotels experienced a surge in business. The local government and education sectors also saw new jobs created or restored.
It's all the more reason to get vaccinated to keep the economic momentum going.
