Haitian migrants have been collecting in the thousands near Del Rio, Texas, after crossing the Rio Grande and sheltering mostly under the international bridge between Del Rio and Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. The Biden Administration is developing plans with Haiti to remove the migrants and return them to Haiti. Many had been in Mexico following the recent earthquake and assassination of the Haitian president. Some immigration authorities believe that they may have been acting on misinformation about changing U.S. immigration policies regarding asylum for vulnerable people.
