This is a colorized film of street scenes in Groningen, Netherlands, from over 100 years ago. It's fascinating and not a little poignant to see images of people long dead, in the normal course of their day. This was an age when shoe leather, along with trams and bicycles, were the main modes of transportation, especially in an urban setting. Some of the sights in the film were destroyed in the Battle of Groningen in April 1945, but the church Martini Tower and city hall were undamaged.
