After a three-year hiatus, and what many of her fans assumed was her last performance, the fascinating Japanese-American indie star Mitski (Mitski Miyawaki) is back with a new album, "Laurel Hell," due out in February, to be followed by a tour of the U.S. and the U.K., public health conditions permitting. Rolling Stone magazine had an interesting article / interview with her in December that goes into her style of music and performance, which combines synth and pop with lyrics that touch on raw emotions and frustration with life's unknowns.
