Sixty years ago today, a relatively unknown quartet released their first single in the UK. The Beatles' "Love Me Do" ("b" side, "P.S. I Love You"), peaking at number 17 on their charts. When it was released in the U.S. over a year later, it became a number one hit for them, as would so many to follow.
