We note the death Wednesday of pop composer/ songwriter Burt Bacharach at the age of 94. Bacharach, was one of the most prolific, influential and successful pop music composers of the last half of the 20th Century, often collaborating with lyricist Hal David and singer Dionne Warwick. The list of artists he wrote for or collaborated with reads like a Who's Who of pop music. We thought we knew most of his songs. We were wrong. Of course, there are his standards like "I Say A Little Prayer," "Walk On By," "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head," "Alfie," "Close To You," "The Look Of Love," "This Guy's In Love With You," and "I'll Never Fall In Love Again." We didn't know he also wrote the songs we're featuring today.
It's safe to say the music of the last 70 years wouldn't have been nearly as rich without the enormous talent of Burt Bacharach.
