The Song Of "An Eternal Morning"

As we note every year around this time, a sound soon to be heard in American woodlands from the Atlantic coast to the Rockies, and one of our favorite bird calls, is the song of the male wood thrush. Henry David Thoreau wrote of the wood thrush,

"This is the only bird whose note affects me like music. It lifts and exhilarates me. It is inspiring. It changes all hours to an eternal morning."

To us, it's a sound that brings back memories of sun-dappled forests of childhood, and we like to return to it every Spring.

Take a few moments to relax, reflect, and enjoy.
