No sooner did President Biden upend the MAGA cult's well-laid plans against him by stepping aside and supporting Vice President Harris than her frantic opponents hypocritically cried foul and threatened to sue when she's placed on the ballot for November. Unfortunately, as in most things legal and ethical, the MAGA cultists don't have a clue. Newsweek picks up the story:
"Janos Marton was reacting to a campaign by the conservative Heritage Foundation to mount legal challenges to Harris' presidential nomination in key battleground states. Marton, who previously ran for district attorney in New York and who is now chief advocacy officer for the liberal advocacy group Dream.Org, told Newsweek that the challenges are unlikely to work.
'I am doubtful that any legal challenges to Harris' ballot line would stand, provided that she is nominated at the Democratic National Convention,' he said. 'Even if certain state laws initially bind delegates to President Biden, we've already seen a number of state delegations commit to Vice President Harris, and that number will approach unanimity in the absence of a serious challenger.'" (our emphasis)
Other election law experts say the MAGA cult plan will fail wherever it's pursued.
Demonstrating the palpable fear the MAGA cult has in Vice President Harris' candidacy, smarmy, hypocritical little House Speaker "MAGA" Mike Johnson threatened to disrupt Harris' candidacy, suing in states that would have her on their ballot, not understanding that the Dem convention delegates can nominate whomever under their own rules, now that President Biden has released them to vote for his Vice President. That's reality.
