Tech Fascists Pushing Greenland "Tech Hub"

The Malignant Fascist's colonial plans for Greenland, part of our ally Denmark's realm, has been aggressively pushed by couch-loving VP JD Vance among other far-right voices. Now, Reuters reports that the sociopathic tech oligarchs in Silicon Valley are pushing the idea of acquiring Greenland for their own greedy purposes:

"As the Trump administration intensifies efforts to acquire Greenland from Denmark — or take it by force — some Silicon Valley tech investors are promoting the frozen island as a site for a so-called freedom city, a libertarian utopia with minimal corporate regulation, three people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The discussions are in early stages, but the idea has been taken seriously by Trump's pick for Denmark ambassador, Ken Howery, who is expected to be confirmed by Congress in the coming months and lead Greenland-acquisition negotiations, the people said. Howery, whose involvement with the idea hasn't been previously reported, once co-founded a venture-capital firm with tech billionaire Peter Thiel, a leading advocate for such low-regulation cities. Howery is also a longtime friend of Elon Musk, a top Trump advisor."  (our emphasis)

All the sinister, despicable names are popping up. Trump donors Thiel and Musk, and now Howery, who thinks as ambassador to Denmark he'll "negotiate" with them to give up Greenland so that these warped men-children can fulfill their Ayn Randian, libertarian dream of a Galt's Gulch in the Arctic. It's no coincidence that Vance once was a principal at Peter Thiel's venture capital company Mithril Capital. More from Reuters:

"The administration’s consideration of such a quixotic quest underscores the growing clout of tech magnates and Trump’s increasingly expansionist foreign policy. After campaigning on a largely isolationist platform, Trump has since his November election suggested taking back the Panama Canal, annexing Canada and redeveloping the war-torn Gaza Strip after seizing the beachfront land from displaced Palestinians.

Greenland is about three times the size of Texas with a population of only 57,000. But the island is strategically important to the U.S. military, which has a base there, and contains substantial deposits of minerals, including rare-earths." (our emphasis)

You can disregard the notion that this is about military presence. It's about the minerals, especially the rare earth elements, which are used in everything from smart phones, to electric vehicles, to medical devices. It's no wonder that Musk and Thiel and their Silicon Valley ilk have been pushing a takeover of Greenland so they can sit on a wealth of valuable minerals used in their products. Their "Freedom City" would be a fascist dystopia, with little to no regulation, and with rampant abuses of workers and the environment. The sooner these fever dreams of our fascist tech overlords is squashed, the sooner we can address the problems of non-oligarchs.

BONUSThen there's this --

Col. Susan Meyers, the commander of Pituffik Space Base in Greenland, was removed from her role on Thursday following a report detailing an email she wrote distancing herself from Vice President JD Vance’s comments during his visit to the Danish semi-autonomous territory.

A statement released by the U.S. Space Force said Meyers was taken off the job by Col. Kenneth Klock “for loss of confidence in her ability to lead.”

Funny, Col. Meyers seems like more of a leader than Col. Klink, er, Klock.

  1. 🀬 How dare that woman, who clearly stole her commanding colonel job from a man who really deserved it, try to maintain morale for all of the fighting forces for which she is responsible!! Uppity women destroy lethality!! Especially when they hurt JD's feefees!! πŸ‘ΌπŸΌ
As for the rest of the "Greenland Conundrum," the answer is the same as everything else in this administration, without exception; Follow. The. Money.!! Ka-ching! πŸ’°

  2. For a bunch of super-geniuses they're coming up short on the physics of it: while it will no doubt become a population hub as the mid-latitudes become uninhabitable and everyone from bugs to snakes moves north that's a good hundred years out! Set aside everything else for a moment and ponder this, aeh, there's still over a mile of ice to melt, some places two, before it become primordial mud

Yeah, in two or three hundred years ...
