From the organizers of Saturday's nationwide "No Kings" protest, rejecting the authoritarianism of the Malignant Fascist and his MAGA movement:
They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services. The corruption has gone too. far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings.
On June 14—Flag Day—President Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else.
No Kings is a nationwide day of defiance. From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we’re taking action to reject authoritarianism—and show the world what democracy really looks like.
We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind.
The flag doesn’t belong to President Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it.
On June 14th, we’re showing up everywhere he isn’t—to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
The website provides an interactive map of protest sites nationwide. Of particular note regarding Washington, DC, where the MAGAts would love there to be a confrontation:
Instead of allowing this birthday parade to be the center of gravity, we will make action everywhere else the story of America that day: people coming together in communities across the country to reject strongman politics and corruption.
For that reason, NO KINGS is not hosting an event in Washington, D.C. We will instead have a major flagship march and rally in Philadelphia to draw a clear contrast between our people-powered movement and the costly, wasteful, and un-American birthday parade in Washington. You can RSVP for the Philadelphia event here.
For participants in the D.C. area, we encourage you to join us in Philadelphia, find a local NO KINGS mobilization in Virginia or Maryland, or join our partners at Free D.C. for DC Joy Day, a community-led event in the District.
Of critical importance is that these protests remain law- abiding and peaceful, no matter the provocations likely to occur from the MAGAts and some in law enforcement. Goons like Stephen Miller want there to be unrest so they can scream "insurrection!" in order to claim dictatorial power for the Malignant Fascist. It may be a difficult or impossible needle to thread given that dynamic and the widespread anger at the ballooning, brutal fascism in our country, but we need to give peaceful mass mobilization a chance. We need to show the power of our numbers, not counterproductive law- breaking and violence. And it's Flag Day, so bring your American flag to show who the real patriots are!
