"... [W]e're living in a country of lawlessness. This is unconstitutional.
"This is someone who has not been accused of a crime whatsoever. In fact, just the opposite.
"I mean there are definitely people that needed to be locked up in the state of Texas starting with our attorney general who had been under federal investigation for a number of years, who had been under felony indictment for a number of years, who was impeached by his own party, yeah, yet he never saw any lockup come to him and obviously you know how I feel about the president and where he should be right now..." -- Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), on the illegal confinement of Texas State Rep. Nicolle Collier in the Texas State Capitol because she won't sign a "permission slip" for State goons to accompany her outside the confines of the Capitol building. This is, of course, in violation of her civil rights and meant to punish and intimidate Democratic legislators who held up the Republican gerrymandered redistricting plan for two weeks by breaking quorum and leaving the state.

“This is radical rigging of a midterm election. Radical rigging of an election. Destroying, vandalizing this democracy, the rule of law. So, I’m sorry. I know some peoples’ sensibilities. I respect and appreciate that. But right now, with all due respect, we’re walking down a damn different path. We’re fighting fire with fire. And we’re gonna punch these sons of bitches in the mouth.” -- California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday on the Texas MAGAt Republican legislature passing a gerrymandered redistricting map at the behest of the Malignant Fascist that would put 5 Democratic seats in Congress in jeopardy. In California, the legislature will vote today on a redistricting plan meant to neutralize the Texas gerrymander, putting it to a vote in a referendum (which California voters favor overwhelmingly). The California Supreme Court brushed back efforts by Republicans there to delay the legislation from moving forward.
