“In the long history of the Nobel Peace Prize, I think this committee has seen many types of campaign, media attention. We receive thousands and thousands of letters every year of people wanting to say what, for them, leads to peace. This committee sits in a room filled with the portraits of all laureates and that room is filled with both courage and integrity. So we base only our decision on the work and the will of Alfred Nobel.” -- chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, commenting on the public pressure campaign by the ludicrously unfit- for- a- prize- of- any- kind Malignant Fascist for the Nobel Peace Prize. The prize was awarded yesterday, despite the MF's pressure campaign, to Venezuelan opposition leader and democracy advocate María Corina Machado. Mr. Frydnes had this to say about the selection of Miss Machado, making it clear they don't award Nobel Peace Prizes to fascists:
“In the past year, Miss Machado has been forced to live in hiding. Despite serious threats against her life, she has remained in the country, a choice that has inspired millions. When authoritarians seize power, it is crucial to recognize courageous defenders of freedom who rise and resist.”
That last sentence was a nice brush- off for the ignorant, demented MF, who thinks he ended "7 wars," including one between Albania and "Aberbaijan" (who don't share a border and weren't at war). Sad!
🤨 Oh, darn! Trump only missed it by this 🫱 🫲 much! 🤣
ReplyDeleteTo Ms. Machado's credit (I guess, although it worries me), she gives Trump credit for fighting against Maduro. Except that her activism in Venezuela puts her in danger. Trump's "fight" could easily destabilize the entire region without a clear goal in mind! I hope that Machado can survive what Trump does to her country!! 😬
