QOTD -- "They Don't Like It"

G. Elliott Morris on the recent 2025 special elections:

"... [E]vidence suggests we should interpret the Republicans’ losses not just as a normal thermostatic reaction to the party in power, but a reflection of both profound anger, and regret, at the consequences of the 2024 election. I have seen some commentators argue that America is just 'getting what it voted for' and voters are reacting to that.

"On the contrary, the polls have long shown that voters did not vote for the current policy outputs of the Trump administration, and disapprove of Trump’s agenda on pretty much every account.

"The results of Tuesday’s elections affirm these polls. Americans are intensely angry at what Trump has done since taking office in January. As I wrote Tuesday night/Wednesday morning:

The best explanation for 2025 is that voters didn’t know what they were getting with Trump 2.0 last November, but now they do — and they don’t like it."

We need to wait a little longer to see if those outputs and that agenda are carried on, and if the intense anger continues, and grows.

  1. The MF is guaranteed to commit further outrages, which will just increase his unpopularity. The only question is, can he build his régime into an impenetrable fortress before he dies &/or the whole house of cards collapses? He and his lickspittles want lots of Americans to die and will take orgasmic pleasure in seeing mass executions and mass graves.

  2. I like people who can see obvious mistakes coming and avoid them. I like people who are not indifferent to collateral damage and who understand the moral implications of taking risks on other people's behalf without their consent.
