Recently, the Kaplan Daily has been giving a lot of column space and credibility to two Fox "News" in-house "Democratic" pollsters, Pat Caddell and Doug Schoen. Four op/eds in eight months -- not bad for a couple of hacks with no influence whatsoever except perhaps in the wingnut bubble that is the Fox "News" universe. Invariably they produce screeds that provide a laughably dishonest view of what's going on in the country and in the Democratic Party.

Today is no exception. Steve Benen has some commentary and a link to their latest dropping. Wait 'til you see what their high concept is...

Screwy Louie's Flameout

One of the stranger nutbags among House Rethuglicans is Texas Congressman Louie "Screwy Louie" Gohmert, who has been on a "terror babies" kick for some time. Yesterday, he appeared on Anderson Cooper's "360" program and proceeded to perform a full wingnut meltdown. Pressed by Cooper to present evidence that a former FBI official told him that a plot was afoot to have babies of foreign nationals born in the U.S. return later to commit terror acts, Screwy Louie couldn't. He then ramped up the incoherence and volume, while Cooper patiently tried to get Screwy Louie to provide the evidence.

This is what the Rethuglican / New Confederate Party has become: a collection of wingnuts, bigots and kooks that a generation ago couldn't get face time on local cable access. Now, this delusional behavior has become mainstream among Rethugs.

Sen. Head-Inhofe-Ass, Birther

Oklahoma's more senior crackpot Sen. Jungle Jim Inhofe (Rethug-Oil and Gas) is opining on more matters of which he knows nothing. This flat-earth global climate change denier thinks the birthers "have a point" in raising doubts about President Obama's citizenship. Not surprising considering the source. Jungle Jim, who ran an insurance company into the ground before he got into national politics, is fond of citing the Bible as a rationale for some of his public policy positions (on Israel for example). Inhofe would be an embarrassment for anyplace other than Oklahoma, the most Republican and tornado-prone State (any Biblical conclusions to draw there?).

Sotomayor Hearings Begin

Today is the beginning of the Sotomayor confirmation hearings and, as expected, the fringe right-wingers are starting their memes.

Ranking Rethug Sen. Jeff "Erson Davis" Sessions (Rethug-CSA) is wondering if Sotomayor's nomination represents a "dangerous" path for the Supreme Court (seeing this Southern fried chicken drawl about Sotomayor's "racism" is like seeing Limpballs bring up Fatty Arbuckle -- it just serves to remind one who's the real racist/ obese pervert).

Sen. Jon Kyl (Rethug-AZ) is raising the "empathy=bias" meme that the wingnut commentariat has been flogging for a month (zzzzzzzz...hmm? no traction? oh well, it's all we got...).

We can hardly wait for New Haven Fireman Frank "Lawsuits 'R' Me" Ricci to take his place among the stellar wingnut panel the Rethugs are going to put forth (including Linda "LINO" Chavez and the wingnut legal brigade from George Mason University "Law" School - what, no one from 4th tier Regent Law School available?).

Al Gore Devours A Congressional Wingnut

There was a wonderful moment captured by Talking Points Memo during a hearing on climate change, that featured an exchange between Nobel Prize winning former Vice President Al Gore and Tennessee Rethug Congresswoman Marsha "Mallo" Blackburn. She attempts to insinuate that Gore is "profiting" from his advocacy of green technology, and Gore neatly pierces Marsha Mallo, places her over the fire, spins her multiple times, and turns her into a smore. Bwahahahaha, well done, big Al! Next time, we'll bring sister wingnut Michelle "I See Commies" Bachmann for the weenie roast.

The Tea-ed Off Right

Today is the deadline for State and Federal taxes, and we'll no doubt see wingnuts demonstrating in front of Fux News cameras all day long with their tea bags swaying. It's been a classic case of "astroturfing" -- phony grass roots activity, sponsored by elites to appear genuine -- with corporate types and right wing foundations kicking in funds, providing public relations and logistical support, and, in the case of Fux News, actual promotion 24/7. The vast majority of the turnout will be the Bushit deadenders who were missing in action during the years when Dumbya and his Rethug Congress ran up the national debt and created huge deficits, while cutting taxes for the very rich. Ironically, the majority of the public believes that the income taxes they pay are "about right" or "too low."

So let the wingnut teabaggers stamp their feet and have their demonstrations. They're still working out their anger over their defeats in 2006 and 2008.

(P.S., as many observers have noted, the right wing tea baggers should check the Urban Dictionary before deciding what to call themselves. Bwahahahaha!)

17 "Socialists", and 1 Loon

Alabama Rethuglican Rep. "Bull Dis-" Spencer Bachus claims to know of 17 "socialists" in the House of Representatives. How Bull Dis-Spencer arrived at this calculation is a mystery, since he won't divulge who he thinks they are. Is it because they want to raise the top tax rate from 36 to 39 percent? Marxists bahstads!

Hackwhackers can confirm that the House of Representatives has many loons, one of whom is Bull Dis-Spencer Bachus.
