Quote Of The Day - Trump, Ailes And The Media

Charles P. Pierce on one of the many unsavory advisers to neo- fascist Donald "Rump" Trump, the abhorrent Roger "Jabba the Nut" Ailes:

There were Mongol chieftains who treated women better than this tawdry tub of goo. It is here where we should remind ourselves that this unseemly blob of encrusted hormones is a trusted adviser to the current Republican presidential nominee. Of course, Huma Abedin, e-mails, Anthony Weiner, private server, optics, narrative.

The latest outstanding piece of real journalism by The New Yorker's Gabriel Sherman on Ailes' depravity goes largely missing in the media mosh pit.  Ailes is a man thing in Rump's inner circle, providing media and debate advice, but the easily- connectable dots aren't being connected. Why? Well, it doesn't contribute to the media's primal urge to tear down Hillary Clinton and get the horserace their bottom line demands.

In this or any other week where Rump's ongoing sleazy evasiveness in releasing his tax returns and medical records, his hiring of the lowest bottom-feeder in the political sewer (David Bossie), his stonewalling on his wife's immigration status, his "model" agency's violations of immigration laws, his pay- for- play scandals, as well as the backdrop of his racist alt- right and Russian oligarch support, any of which could be the focus of honest investigative journalism and headlining stories, instead we get ... well, Charlie already said it, and at this point, we're just beating a dead horse (giving us an excuse to use that gif).

BONUS:  Right --

Imagine if Ailes sex scandal broke in 2012 & Romney hired Ailes for debate advice. It would be page A story for weeks.

More Women Come Forward In Ailes Case

It's being reported by New York Magazine that six women have come forward to allege Fux "News" head and large sack of pus Roger "Jabba The Nut" Ailes sexually harassed them going back decades, including a woman who was just 16 at the time. Two of the women are allowing their names to be published, and four are not. Nevertheless, their stories are harrowing and filled with loathing of the sick Mr. Ailes. To give you an idea of how perverted this monster is, here's part of the account of the 16 year-old:

"Ailes took me into this big office and locked the door with a key.... He proceeded to pull down his pants and very gingerly pull out his genitals and said, 'Kiss them.' And they were red like raw hamburger.... I was a kid, I’d never seen a man’s privates before. I jumped up, but the door is locked and nobody’s out there. He chased me around the office and at some point it dawned on him that this just wasn’t going to happen. He finally pulled up his trousers."

This is the sick f*ck that former Fux anchor Gretchen Carlson is now suing for sexual harassment and wrongful termination. He's the orchestra conductor for the right-wing media machine that is Fux "News," the beacon of wingnuttery and self-righteous, socially "conservative" talibangelists. Unsurprising as it is disgusting.

More On Jabba Ailes' Sexism

Fux "News" CEO and misogynist Roger "Jabba the Nut" Ailes' paranoia and reckless disregard for the truth are chronicled in Gabe Sherman's new book "The Loudest Voice in the Room."  As we noted on January 8, Jabba the Nut has a habit of sexual harassment, and Media Matters has gone through Sherman's book to reveal other examples of his clueless sexism.  Examples:  telling staff not to permit female anchors to wear pantsuits, directing former anchor Kiran Chetry to move a lap top so he could see her legs through the glass desktop, etc.

This right-wing political hack posing as a "news" executive is one of the great charades in our media.  That he apparently feels empowered to engage in boorish behavior with women on his staff speaks volumes about his "values" and professionalism.  Of course, in line with Fux alumnus Brit "Droopy" Hume's analysis of Chris Christie's persona, maybe Jabba the Nut is just behaving in a "muscular and masculine" manner in this "feminized" world.  It's still the 1950s at Fux.

APPALLING BONUS:  With his views on what constitutes masculinity, Brit Hume must've been one godawful dad to his late son.
