Tweets Of The Day - The White (Supremacist) House

The tweet refers to Historically Black Colleges and Universities and neo- fascist white nationalist Donald "Rump" Trump's statement on the omnibus spending bill Rump signed Friday. Here's what happened:
President Donald Trump signaled Friday that he may not implement a 25-year-old federal program that helps historically black colleges finance construction projects on their campuses, suggesting that it may run afoul of the Constitution.
In a signing statement on the $1.1 trillion omnibus government spending bill, Trump singled out the Historically Black College and University Capital Financing Program as an example of provisions in the funding bill “that allocate benefits on the basis of race, ethnicity, and gender.”
Trump said his administration would treat those programs “in a manner consistent with the requirement to afford equal protection of the law under the Due Process Clause of the Constitution’s Fifth Amendment.”’
Once and for always, the orange shitgibbon and his staff of redneck nitwits don't have the faintest foggiest notion what they're talking about.  Here's Cheryl Smith at the United Negro College Fund trying to paint a picture for them:
Smith noted that the federal designation of an institution as an HBCU is not based on race, but rather on mission, accreditation status and the year the institution was established.” She speculated that the “signing statement may simply be the Office of Management and Budget being overly cautious and perhaps not fully understanding this important distinction as it relates to HBCUs, but UNCF needs more information regarding their thinking and intent.”
Under the program, which was created by Congress in 1992, the Education Department provides federally-backed loans to historically black colleges and universities for the construction of buildings and other facilities. The bill provides $20 million in federal loan subsidies in fiscal year 2017 to support as much as $282 million worth of financing to the schools.
Derek W. Black, a law professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law who studies constitutional and education law, called Trump’s reference to the HBCU program “rather odd.” (our emphasis)
Odd is as odd does.

This could've been a clue earlier:

How could this have gotten by Presidential apprentice and heavyweight liaison Omirosa?! We don't think she'll get any props for this!

Tweet of the Day: Two Car Funeral Edition

The plan by the campaigns of sociopath "Tailgunner Ted" Cruz and human bowl of oatmeal John "Who?" Kasich to step aside in states where the other has a better chance of defeating neo-fascist vulgarian Donald "Rump" Trump has drawn the ire of Rump. Interestingly, the Cruz/Kasich tactic may backfire, as it seems to support Rump's claims that the nomination is being rigged for the "establishment" candidates and may draw more angry Rethugs into the voting booths to vote for Rump. We'll see. Everything the anti-Rump forces have tried up until now has failed and backfired.

BONUS:  Charlie Pierce sums up the late and lame effort to derail Rump at this stage in the game:
With conspirators like these, Caesar would have spent March 15 in a brothel, avoided the Senate for a month, and died of old age in his summer place in Gaul.

Tweets Of The Day - Trump, Fox, And The Republican Party

Neo- fascist Republican bag o' farts Donald "Rump" Trump, a person who would presume to present a tough face to the world as President, has come down with a case of the willies, brought on by the prospect of dealing with Fox "News'" moderator Megyn Kelly in Thursday's Republican "debate," and by a Fox "News" statement questioning his, um balls.
Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski confirmed to the Washington Post on Tuesday that the GOP front-runner is "definitely not participating in the Fox News debate."   [snip]

Earlier in the day, Trump had teased that he "most likely" would not participate in Thursday's main debate, stemming from his ongoing feud with Kelly.
Jeet Heer captures the essence of the Rump/ Fox standoff:
He also encapsulates the seminal problem:
Will Fox cave and dump Kelly?  Don't bet against Rump;  they haven't found a vaccine for him yet.

And, as a bonus, Bob Schooley's overall take on the neckbeard's "Burning Man" utopia:

For the neckbeard, the only thing missing in that last image is that the two aren't packing AR-15's.
