Trent Franks Resigns; Won't Be Asking Staff To Bear His Love Child Anymore

One of the worst right- wing loons in Congress, Arizona Republican tea bagger Rep. Trent "Beans &" Franks, resigned today after an appropriately (for him) bizarre series of revelations, as originally reported by Politico. Here's the latest:

Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) resigned Friday amid reports he suggested aides have intercourse with him and serve as a surrogate for his child.

Franks had said Thursday that he would resign in February. Friday’s announcement was effective immediately.  

The congressman also said his wife had been admitted to the hospital “due to an ongoing ailment.” [Ed.: maybe too much "Beans &" Franks?]

“Female aides said Franks suggested intercourse to impregnate them,” Politico headlined the article. 

The outlet also reported that unnamed sources said a former staffer had alleged Franks had tried to persuade her they were in love “by having her read an article that described how a person knows they’re in love with someone,” and that one woman had believed she had had her access to Franks revoked as retribution for refusing his advances. [snip]

And an unnamed former aide of Franks told the Associated Press that he had “repeatedly pressed her” to act as a surrogate for his child, including by offering $5 million at one point. The former staffer told the AP Franks had asked her to serve as a surrogate in exchange for money “at least four times,” the outlet reported Friday. (our emphasis)

Trump Bootlicker Calls For Special Counsel Mueller To Resign (UPDATED)

See if you notice a "tell" here:

House Judiciary Committee member Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) is calling on Robert Mueller, special counsel for the Department of Justice’s Russia investigation, to resign. 

Franks claims Mueller is violating a law governing the special counsel that prohibits him from serving if he has a “conflict of interest,” which includes “a personal relationship with any person substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution.” 

Franks cited a Fox News report from May that cast Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey as “longtime allies.” Mueller served as the FBI Director when Comey was the Deputy Attorney General in 2003. The Russia investigation has expanded to include possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia and the president’s decision to fire the FBI director. 

“Bob Mueller is in clear violation of federal code and must resign to maintain the integrity of the investigation into alleged Russian ties,” Franks said in a statement.

Did you catch the Fox "News" reference, that fount from which all evil political mischief flows -- "a Fox News report from May..."?  That particular stupidity has been out there since May, so why the sudden elevation of it into a demand that Mueller resign? Was it perhaps this bat- shit signal from the shitgbbon just a few days ago:

Sensing the closing prosecutorial noose around Rump's fat neck, a wall of  treasonous, dead- ender co- conspirators is beginning to form around the shitgibbon in the House and Senate. Not surprisingly, it includes Rep. Trent "Beans And" Franks (Teabag - AZ). Franks is one of the most dangerous loons in the House (and, that's a statement right there), having opined that African Americans were better off under slavery, proposing bills that foster Islamophobia, and being a virulent opponent of a woman's right to choose. Now he's part of an emerging cabal of ultra- rightists determined to "protect" the un-indicted co-conspirator and risk obstructing justice rather than uphold the rule of law. Party before country!

UPDATE:  We are also now hearing that (allegedly!) the shitgibbon wanted to push Fox's malicious, fabricated conspiracy story about Democratic staffer Seth Rich's murder last summer. They needed a distraction and a diversion from the emerging Trump-Russia scandal, of course. So, working hand in hand, they created this hurtful, monstrous conspiracy tale, because no road is ever too low for this sociopathic shitheel or his enablers.

The Republican War On Women: A-Wanking They Will Go

Apparently, it's Abortion Week for the Rethuglicans in Washington:

House Republicans on Tuesday make their most concerted effort of the year to change federal abortion law with legislation that would ban almost all abortions after a fetus reaches the age of 20 weeks.

The "Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act," expected to pass by a comfortable margin late Tuesday, would be a direct challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortions up to the time a fetus becomes viable. Fetal viability is generally considered to be at least 24 weeks into the pregnancy.

Will Did the bill pass the House?  Yes!  Will it see the light of day in the Senate, survive a presidential veto or court challenge?  No, no and no!  Do House Rethugs give a s**t about equal pay, jobs, or any issues regarding the health and welfare of women and children?  Hell no!  So, let's waste everyone's time with more of this posturing for the goobers in your frothing base!

By the by, only after an uproar spurred by remarks from Rethug Rep. Trent "Beans N." Franks (Misogynist-AZ) did House Rethugs modify this DOA bill to exempt cases of rape and incest (!).  Mighty white (male) of them!  (Though, we must add that there's at least one Stupid Party female trying to get in on the week's festivities.) 

But that's not all!  In order to make his case for the bill, we have Rethuglican/ Stupid Party Rep. Michael Burgess (Wanker-TX) offering his insights on fetal pain, thusly:

They stroke their face. If they’re a male baby, they may have their hand between their legs. If they feel pleasure, why is it so hard to believe that they could feel pain?

Perhaps Rep. Burgess was engaging in a little projection there, but the introduction of such a godawful thought (into a process that can best be described as legislative wanking) shows just out of touch and out of the mainstream this collection of loons in the Rethuglican caucus really is, and that they still haven't a clue what the priorities are for women, much less the nation, in two damn thousand thirteen.

The Republican War on Women, Cont'd.

House Rethuglicans are pushing another "war on women" measure that would ban all abortions -- even those resulting from rape and incest -- after 20 weeks.  One of the bill's authors is crackpot Arizona Rep. Trent "Beans and" Franks,  who had this mind-boggling statement yesterday:

“The incidence of rape resulting in pregnancy are very low.”

Thank you, Beans and Franks, but you frankly don't know beans about the subject.  As noted here, there are estimates ranging from 32,000 to 83,000 pregnancies each year arising from rape.  Roughly one-third of the victims don't realize they're pregnant until the second trimester, beyond the 20 week limitation the Rethugs want to impose.

Once again, Rethuglican male politicians have weighed in on rape and pregnancy, displaying their bottomless ignorance as they attempt to dictate what women may do with their own bodies.  All together now,  Freedumb!!
