President Trump has decided to hire the longtime Washington lawyer Joseph E. diGenova, who has pushed the theory on television that Mr. Trump was framed by F.B.I. and Justice Department officials, to bolster his legal team, according to three people told of the decision. 

Mr. diGenova is not expected to take a lead role but will instead serve as a more aggressive player on the president’s legal team. Mr. Trump broke over the weekend from the longstanding advice of some of his lawyers that he refrain from directly attacking the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, a sign of his growing unease with the investigation. 

The hire has not been announced, and Mr. Trump frequently changes his mind and sometimes adjusts his plans based on media coverage. It was not clear whether Mr. Trump planned to hire other lawyers. 

Mr. diGenova has endorsed the notion that a secretive group of F.B.I. agents concocted the Russia investigation as a way to keep Mr. Trump from becoming president. “There was a brazen plot to illegally exonerate Hillary Clinton and, if she didn’t win the election, to then frame Donald Trump with a falsely created crime,” he said on Fox News in January. He added, “Make no mistake about it: A group of F.B.I. and D.O.J. people were trying to frame Donald Trump of a falsely created crime.” (our emphasis)

He seems sane.

You may remember diGenova and his equally- publicity- seeking attorney wife Victoria Toensing in their roles as hired guns for every shady Republican pol and operation since the halcyon days of Newt Gingrich, Linda Tripp and Monica Lewinsky.  Now as then, Fox "News" is one of diGenova's favorite sandboxes, which is doubtless where he and his porn 'stache drew the attention of increasingly cornered un- indicted co- conspirator Donald "Rump" Trump.  As the article implies, this hire is part and parcel of Rump's recent attempts to lay the groundwork for firing Special Counsel Robert Mueller.  Bank on it.

Only The Best! Financial Crimes Dept.

A long-time assistant to kleptocrat and Russian asset Donald "Rump" Trump was escorted from the White (Supremacist) House this morning in the chilly air without a jacket. John McEntee, who has been one of Rump's "body men" running odd errands for him, was fired over serious financial crime allegations stemming from an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security and from issues regarding his failure to gain a top secret security clearance. McEntee joined the 2016 itRump campaign in its early months and was seen as a trusted aide.

No need to feel sorry for McEntee, who was immediately picked up by the Rump campaign for 2020 as a "senior advisor." Perhaps he can advise them on ways not to get caught in financial crimes, although it's probably too late for that already.

The old saying, "The fish rots from the head," was never more true than as it applies to the evil comic opera staff of the White (Supremacist) House and associated regime of malignant narcissist and rotting blobfish Donald "Rump" Trump.  For example, just in recent days, we have Only The Best People like these in the news:
