Good To Know Who's Supporting The Bigots

As the backlash against Indiana's anti-LGBT law grows, there are some who have another opinion about the law:

Republican presidential hopefuls are lining up in defense of Indiana’s controversial “religious freedom” law, which critics warn will open the door to legal discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals by businesses in the state.

“I think Gov. [Mike] Pence has done the right thing,” former Florida governor and likely 2016 contender Jeb Bush said in a Monday interview. “I think once the facts are established, people aren’t going to see this as discriminatory at all.”

As a reason why such laws are necessary, Bush pointed to the case of a Washington state florist who was fined for refusing to provide flowers for a same-sex wedding.  (our emphasis)

The tell right there is Jebbie Bush's example of the florist who refused service to a same-sex couple.  ("But it's not about discrimination! =wink=wink= ")  "Moderate" Jebbie needs to brush up on the Indiana Republican talking points, which seek to obfuscate the potential for anti-LGBT discrimination as represented by the Washington State florist example.

Sen. Marco "Glug Glug" Rubio, Sen. "Tailgunner Ted" Cruz, Gov. Piyush "Bobby" Jindal, and Ben "On Meds?" Carson have also stated their support for the anti-LGBT law.  Koch employee of the year and vanquisher of ISIS labor unions Gov. Scott "Koch Head" Walker has effectively shrugged and run in the other direction when asked about his views (a man of many minds has no mind at all, it's said).

Let's make sure the American public remembers this shameful episode, and the response of Republican presidential bigots hopefuls, as November 2016 approaches.

BONUS:  As if any further proof were needed, this is how the anti-LGBT law is seen in reality by the good upstanding Christians knuckle-draggers.

Scary Gay People! Run For Your Lives!

Courtesy of Right Wing Watch, here's a trailer for a movie called "Light Wins," shedding light (complete with lantern -- get it?) on the "gay agenda" conspiracy to "criminalize Christianity." Did you know Christianity was going to be criminalized?  Neither did we.  But we're not on medication, either.

The filmmakers propagandists have gathered an assortment of small-bore, Bible-banging drama queens talibangelist bigots purporting to be "Christians" fulminating in garish terms about the hellfire about to be visited on 'murrica because of... Teh Gheys.  Not to mention the faux sense of victimization. Hmmm.... we smell another right-wing grift coming to a theater near you -- another fleecing of the sheep.  So, come for potential Republican presidential candidate and fully-realized asswhistle Mike "Hucksterbee" Huckabee at approximately 1:21, but stay for the "dividing of sheep and goats" at approximately 3:04.  Ladies and gentlemen, behold the grifting of the fearful hive mind of the "Christian" Republican right (Warning:  scary-scary sound effects):

Wanker of the Week

Republican lobbyist/ strategist Jack Burkman is drafting legislation to ban gays from the National Football League.  Why?  Family values!

”We are losing our decency as a nation,” Burkman said in a statement. "Imagine your son being forced to shower with a gay man. That’s a horrifying prospect for every mom in the country. What in the world has this nation come to?”

"We're losing our decency as a nation," he says.  A little background on this family values Republican might be in order:

Jack Burkman, the GOP strategist and conservative talking head who used to be seen on the cable news shows a lot more often before his MySpace sleazery was exposed, is also on the DC Madam’s phone list! 

And yes, that’s the same Jack Burkman who worked for James Dobson’s Family Research Council as a lobbyist for, you know, conservative family values.

If you're keeping score, for Burkman it's "Hos good, ho-mos bad!"

Because who ever heard of a gay man in the NFL?!

Bigots, Cowards and "Man's Men"

University of Missouri defensive lineman Michael Sam, an All-American, has announced he's "an openly, proud gay man" in advance of the upcoming National Football League draft.   In response, Sports Illustrated asked 12 NFL executives if and how this would affect Sam's status in the upcoming draft.  None of the 12 executives questioned would allow their name to be used.  This sample anonymous comment perhaps shows why:

"In the coming decade or two, it's going to be acceptable, but at this point in time it's still a man's-man game. To call somebody a [gay slur] is still so commonplace. It'd chemically imbalance an NFL locker room and meeting room."  (our emphasis)

To a "man," these 12 anonymous "man's men" said that Sam's announcement would cause his draft position to drop or cause him to not be drafted at all.

We can't think of anyone who is less a "man's man" than a bigot who is also a coward.

Wanker of the Week

What an ignorant bigot:

Putin met with a group of volunteers in the Olympic mountain venue at Krasnaya Polyana on Friday to wish them success at the Games. During a question-and-answer session, one volunteer asked him about Russia’s attitudes toward gays, a subject that has provoked worldwide controversy, and Putin offered what was apparently meant to be a reassuring answer for visitors to the Olympics. 

"One can feel calm and at ease," he said. "Just leave the kids alone, please."
