Ted "Tailgunner Ted" Cruz's campaign
trying to deflect renewed "birther" accusations against him, now that front-running gasbag
Donald "Rump" Trump has elevated the "birthright" citizen non-issue to the mouth breathing mob on the right. With Rump and his Rethuglican colleagues expressing the false view that children born on U.S. soil of immigrants -- documented or undocumented -- are not automatically entitled to citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment, Tailgunner Ted, who was born in Canada, has had to again defend his status as a citizen.
The new birthers are also shining their spotlight
on three other Rethuglican candidates: Gov.
Piyush "Bobby" Jindal, Sen.
Marco "Glug Glug" Rubio, and former Sen.
Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum. Piyush was born in the U.S. to Indian parents with student visas; Glug Glug was born in Miami to parents who only became U.S. citizens four years after his birth, and Frothy Mix was born in the U.S. to an Italian immigrant, whose status as a citizen has been questioned.
After years of nonsense and blatant racism from the right-wing questioning President Obama's citizenship, seeing some of their fellow wingnuts feel the heat from birthers is extremely satisfying.
