Buh-Bye Rahmbo

As expected, "Rahmbo" Emanuel is leaving his post as White House Chief of Staff and all-around asshole to run for Mayor of Chicago (in the great Chicago tradition, we wish we could vote early and often against him). The powerful corporate Dem is being replaced by Pete Rouse (whose mother is Japanese American, making him the first Asian American WH Chief of Staff-- banzai!). Some are predicting the departure of the anti-progressive Rahmbo will enable Obama to move to the left in the remaining 2 years of his (first?) term. Let's hope so.

Why We Won't Be Contributing To The Dems This Year

Reason #1:
"Organized labor just flushed $10 million of their members' money down the toilet on a pointless exercise... if even half that total had been well-targeted... that could have made a real difference in November." Quote about the Lincoln/Halter primary attributed to an unnamed "senior White House official." Likewise, we won't be flushing any more of our money down the toilet to benefit f**king wankers like this. "Pointless exercise?" For people like the one quoted (Rahmbo? Gibbsie?), you don't stand up for principles. It's all negotiable.

Reason #2:
"[Sen. Blanche] Lincoln was embraced by her colleagues on the Senate floor as a conquering general returning from war...Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.) held up two fists and said of her primary campaign: 'Fighting Wall Street with one hand, unions with the other.'" - quoted in the Dickwhisperers' column in today's Kaplan Daily. Yes, Chuck, those bad old unions need fightin' and we're countin' on you Corporate Dems to rake in as much money from your big business (and Wall Street) benefactors to keep them, and progressives, in their place! Asswipe.

Wanker of the Day

It's William "I.P." Daley, corporate Dem, in his Kaplan Daily op/ed, completely mis-reading the political malaise and how the Dems can re-energize the voters who put them in office. What "agenda far to the left of most voters" are Dems advancing? Certainly not the Senate version of health care. Certainly not marriage equality. Certainly not the corporate Dem approach to handling Wall Street. Certainly not the compromised stimulus legislation. Democrats didn't show up at the polls in Virginia (where the gubernatorial candidate ran away from Obama's "liberal" agenda) or New Jersey (whose incumbent Democrat was wildly unpopular) largely because those voters are tired of corporate Dems like yourself having your way and then bashing the base for not liking it. So, the question must be, who are you really shilling for now, I.P.?
