Mid--Week Lumineers Song

One of the best folk rock / indie rock bands anywhere, The Lumineers have a compelling sound, and have become one of the top touring bands in the U.S., following their 2012 infectious song "Ho Hey." Their next album "III" will be out in September, but last month they released a single from the album, "Gloria." It's a trenchant song about alcoholism in a family. The band's lead singer Wesley Schultz explained the song this way:
“Gloria is an addict. Her character was inspired by a member of my family, and no amount of love or resources could save her. She’s now been homeless for over a year. Loving an addict is like standing among the crashing waves, trying to bend the will of the sea.”

Queen of De-Nile Mid-Week Song

Indie folk rock band The Lumineers' first album went platinum in 2013, spurred by their 2012 mega hit single "Ho Hey." Quite a beginning. They went on to be nominated for a Grammy as "Best New Artist" of 2013. They've just released a new album, "Cleopatra", containing a track by the same name. They recently performed the song live in Los Angeles. Enjoy.

Mid-Week Ho Hey Song

Compelling, acoustic-based "roots rock" artists have had much success lately, with musicians like the Avett Brothers, Eric Hutchinson, and Mumford and Sons as examples. The Lumineers have that upbeat, insistent sound, and the trio's song "Ho Hey" is rising on the charts. After watching this video, the Hackwhackers might get some hipster fedoras, too.
