Lighter tweeting today as I try to keep track of all the president’s high crimes and misdemeanors, foreign policy fiascos, and dozens of additional sexual misconduct allegations.— George Conway (@gtconway3d) October 9, 2019
(Here's a link to the report of the newest Trump sexual misconduct allegations from the recently published book "All the President’s Women: Donald Trump and the Making of a Predator.")
BONUS: Also today --
[Trump] was asked whether abandoning the Kurds might damage U.S. efforts to forge future alliances, and he responded, “No, it won’t. Alliances are very easy.” He added that the Kurds “didn’t help us in the Second War War, they didn’t help us with Normandy.”There. Are. No. Words.... Except "impeach and remove."
This is ridiculous. The Kurds have never had a recognized independent sovereign state; their territory has always been ruled by others. During World War II, Iraq and Syria, including the Kurdish areas within them, were mandated colonial possessions of the British and French empires respectively. There was no independent Kurdish state or government that could have participated in the war.
ReplyDelete(Turkey, which was an independent sovereign state during World War II, didn't participate in D-Day either, and indeed remained neutral until the war was almost over.)
In fact, during World War II, Britain recruited soldiers from among the subject peoples of its empire, so it's quite possible that some individual Kurds did fight on the allied side, under the British flag.
Trump, I'm sure, is totally ignorant of all this.
Infidel -- The Very Stable Genius strikes again. Beyond the humiliation of having this ignoramus representing our country lies the fact that his idiocy has deadly consequences, and will into the future. What a historic disaster for us.
ReplyDeleteThat whole “Kurds never helped in the past” and “they're in this conflict over land” crap came from a far Right hack, and Trump heard it and liked it, just like he does with topics and quotes from FOX. So his stupidity and gullibility go hand-in-hand. And now there is no one who oversees or doublechecks what Trump is going to say on a live mike or in his Twitter posts. So he's proving yet again that he's unfit to serve as president. He's not fit to serve anywhere, period.
ReplyDeleteExcept serving a term in prison.
donnah -- didn't know that, but should have guessed it was planted in Trump's empty head.
ReplyDeleteOf course it's a Kurt Schlichter article. OF COURSE it is. https://t.co/HU32unUrF4
