As we noted in the post below, the Supreme Court unanimously rejected an attempt by some Trumpist dead enders to overturn the election in Pennsylvania. They brushed off the absurd case in one dismissive sentence.
As clear a signal as that was to demagogue and lifelong con man Donald "Mango Mussolini" Trump and his cult members, the corrupt Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, decided to go bigly and challenge the votes in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Paxton, who's a classic white collar criminal exchanging official favors for campaign contributions, etc., stands no chance of having his frivolous authoritarian suit considered by the Court. The states he's suing have already certified their votes and withstood numerous legal challenges by the Trump cult. So, assuming that he knows he has little chance of succeeding in Court, why pursue this? The obvious answer is that he clearly hopes to gain Trump's eye for a pardon from his securities fraud indictment and other offenses for which he's now under investigation by the FBI.
Trump corruptly responds to quid pro quos, as well as abject loyalty and flattery. Paxton's use of Texas' taxpayer dollars to pursue a frivolous suit in the Supreme Court simply to win a pardon for his felonious acts says all you need to know about the rotted-out, sewer level Republican Party and its leadership.
