Your "Liberal" Media

Who's been rewarded with a "news analyst" gig at MSNBC? A great progressive like Ezra Klein? No. Harold Meyerson? No. Russ Feingold? No.

Yay, "liberal media!" It's The Shizzle himself!

Jump Around!

If you watch MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann, you'll notice that whenever Pills Limpballs' name is mentioned, a small video loop of his bouncing appearance at the CPAC conference appears in the lower corner of the screen. You have to see it. MSNBC should adopt it for their other evening programming -- Ed Schultz, Tweety, and Rachel Maddow.

Priceless.

Schultz + MSNBC = Good Viewing

MSNBC announced last night that Ed Schultz, a progressive radio host and frequent contributor, will have his own show starting April 6 at 6 p.m. Eastern time, appropriately titled "The Ed Show."

We like Schultz's unapologetic championing of progressive policies, his eagerness to mix it up with wingnuts, and his common man persona, topped off with a southern accent and the burly appearance of the former collegiate football player that he was. Good move, MSNBC.

*ucker Carlson Getting the Ax

Another wanker bites the dust! News that *ucker Carlson's teevee show is being canceled can only bring smiles to our faces. The "show" hosted by the preppy beneficiary of wingnut welfare (daddy's connections) has been tanking in the ratings for some time. It's believed that MSNBC is looking for a more "newsy" program, but we're hoping it gives (gasp!) a progressive a chance to fill the time slot before Tweety comes on to foul the airwaves. John Ridley? Mika Brzezinski? Rachel Maddow? Just not another former country club towel boy.

UPDATE: It looks like David Gregory, famous for his dancing with Karl Rove at a recent White House Press Correspondents' dinner, is replacing *ucker. Dancin' Dave, the tap dancing "journalist."

Ta Ta, Tucker?

The New York Observer is reporting that right wing preppy pundit Tucker "Mothertucker" Carlson may be on the way out at MSNBC. At least MSNBC is being very noncommittal about Mothertucker's future there.

Tweety Twikes Again

Of course, the emcee at last night's "debate" was none other than Chris "Tweety" Matthews. Tweety has long exhibited a pathological grudge against the Clintons, and now that Hillary Clinton is running for President, Tweety never misses an opportunity on his MSNBC "Hardball" program to giggle and leer about the former First Lady and President, as if he's heard some new, never-heard-before jokes that he wants to spring on his audience. Martin Lewis has a good skewering of Tweety's performance last night at HuffPo. Lewis suspects Tweety's attitude stems from Clenis envy. Given Tweety's abject sucking up to candidates he views as "macho", such as Fred Thompson, Rudi!, and Johnny Walnuts McCain, that's not such a far fetched theory.

Hope for MSNBC?

Today begins Stephanie Miller's tryout on the a.m. MSNBC time slot vacated by Don Imus. Judging from this morning's effort, Stephanie (an Air America broadcaster) would be a welcome voice -- not to mention face -- in MSNBC's lineup, which currently has Keith Olbermann as the sole progressive voice in a wilderness of Tweetys, *uckers, and other creatures, mostly small. She would be a vast improvement over Michael Smerconish, the wingnut world's candidate host from the last two weeks whose head is as clear inside as it is outside.
