Today's Dispatches From The Stupid Party: Sedition Edition

Mmmm.  There 's more sedition brewing in the low brow precincts of wingnuttia.  Let's hear from constitushunal expert Debbie Dunnegan Waters, Republican Recorder of Deeds for Jefferson County, MO, who would like to see some military coup action:
"I have a question for all my friends who have served or are currently serving in our military … having not put on a uniform nor taken any type military oath, there has to be something that I am just not aware of. But I cannot and do not understand why no action is being taken against our domestic enemy. I know he is supposedly the commander in chief, but the constitution gives you the authority," she wrote in the post. "What am I missing? Thank you for your bravery and may God keep you safe."  (our emphasis)
"What am I missing?"  A brain?!  (Sorry, that was too easy.)

So, a low-level (not to mention low-functioning) Republican office holder yearns for some Francisco Franco action.  "[T]he constitution gives you the authority."  Must be thinking about the constitution of Tomainia.  Can we have a little military coup in the Recorder of Deeds office in Jefferson County, MO?

Is that all you got?

Not when North Carolina Bible-thumping peckerwood Republican Rep. Walter Jones (R - Moonshine) is on the loose:
Jones said that as a “Ron Paul-type Republican” he believed that saving the country was going to take leaders who “understand that we have a bible and we have a constitution. And if we do not follow the Constitution then we will continue to go down this road of collapsing.”
“That’s what we need to do is to have a revolution in this country, and not talking about gun necessarily,” he added. “I’m talking about a revolution of people getting out of their offices and getting into the streets letting their voices be heard.  (our emphasis)
Not necessarily, mind you!  But if the darn heathen Democrats don't do what we want to do follow the Bible and the imaginary conservative constitushun, well we need to have us a fair election revolution!  Not necessarily with guns, but... well, that's enough dog whistling for now.

Let's Celebrate Union Victory Month Instead

As we count down the final hours of Confederate History Month in some states like Virginia, Mississippi, etc., it bears repeating that the New Confederate Party / Rethuglican Party is doing its best to bring back those good old days. From Texas Gov. Rick "Hair" Perry's virtually seditious threat of secession to Gov. Robert "Blowdry Bob" McDonnell's lapse of memory when it comes to slavery, the New Confederate Party is ready to lead us into the 1860s.

Today's overtones of threatened violence, brandishing guns, denial of the democratically-elected government's legitimacy, and racism was also present leading up to the Civil War. Celebrating a "cause" that defended slavery and led to secession from the Union isn't patriotic at all. But tell that to today's New Confederate Party and you'll get blank stares at best, because they've largely become a party of the Old Confederacy. And they're on the wrong side of history as a result.

Just Wondering. . .

. . . .whether right-wing Gov. Mark "States' Rights" Sanford of South Carolina, who wanted to turn down Federal stimulus money, will be rejecting Federal emergency funds after declaring a state of emergency in parts of his state battling wildfires. They're nothing if not hypocrites.

Another Rethug Patriot

Speaking yesterday to a crowd of tea bagging wingnuts and other assorted nutjob losers in Austin, TX, Texas Rethuglican Gov. Rick "Dipstick" Perry really did himself proud. Repeatedly referring to the "oppressive" Federal government and praising "states' rights", Dipstick had some in the crowd waving signs saying "Secede." At a press conference later, he said that at some point, Texans might get so fed up they would want to secede from the union. When asked if he supported Texas' secession from the United States, Dipstick squirmed, but said, "who knows what might come out of that." Wasn't it just a few months ago when the Rethugs were throwing around the word "treason" for anyone who disagreed with Dumbya and Dead Eye? Now who's disloyal?

News flash for Gov. Dipstick: we've already had a Civil War, and your side LOST. Also, Dip, you might want to check the legal definition of "sedition," because you're right on the edge of it.
