Weally Winky?

"Going Rogue," the ghostwritten tome of Alaska's Winky You Betcha, is being released today, and will certainly contain more fibs by the former Rethug VP candidate. McSame campaign officials who are castigated in the book have already called many of Winky's allegations false. The Associated Press obtained an advance copy of the book, and noted a number of false statements by Winky; she, in turn, has called AP's critique erroneous. We'll see about that, but we doubt that Winky's suddenly learned to tell the truth. As Sully notes in The Atlantic, she is on record for numerous falsehoods both during the campaign last year, and beyond. Of course, the boobs who want to believe her every whopper, and the cynical neocons who are riding on her popularity with the Rethug base, don't give a damn that she lies easily and without reflection, as long as the lies match their reality. 'Cause that's how they roll.

Bill O'Liely has been abducted and a libtard ghost-writer has written an admiring puff-piece in the nationally-syndicated Parade about President Obama!! Did O'Liely see what his ghost-writer wrote before he signed the check?? Was this run by Roger Ailes??!! How could you say such positive things about "President" Barack Mohammed Adolf Josef Kenyatta Obama!!??

"No Party of Einsteins"
Charles Blow discusses the birther, authoritarian, know-nothing hooliganism on display in the kook right's attempts to derail health care reform/ the Obama Administration in his NY Times op/ed. Citing polling showing 58% of Rethugs aren't convinced of Obama's Hawaiian birth (about the same percentage of Rethugs that believe humans were created 10,000 years ago), Blow concludes "This is no party of Einsteins." True. But, unfortunately, it is a party whose base is angry, well-armed, and responds readily to incitement.

As if further evidence were needed, Winky You Betcha has weighed in (if a lightweight could be said to weigh in) the health care scare derby, using her Down syndrome child Trig as a prop once again. No party of Einsteins, indeed. No party of truth or character either.

You Betcha's Brazen Lie

The Troopergate report released last Friday said that Gov. You Betcha abused her authority by pressuring State officials to fire her estranged brother-in-law. The report also found that You Betcha violated section 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act in permitting the pressure to continue on several State employees. In simple terms, she violated a state ethics statute.

You Betcha, however, has been lying openly about the report's findings, declaring that the report vindicates her claim that she didn't do anything wrong. She's apparently assuming that people who see the tape of her lie will accept it and not bother to read the report (or see newspapers, magazines, radio and TV news, for that matter). After multiple occasions where she's lied about something (her support for the Bridge to Nowhere, that she battled against earmarks, etc.), her dishonesty has become pathological. Small wonder that she has the lowest positive ratings among the four candidates.
