"Chuck Todd: On It"

Press the Meat's new host Chuck "Not My Job" Todd got off to a whiz-bang start this past Sunday with a big "get"-- an exclusive interview with President Obama.  Then, as Charles P. Pierce would say, his foot found a rake (whap!).  Here's David Letterman's priceless (and, we're sure to be more- than- occasional) segment, "Chuck Todd: On It."

Our Broken Media, McCain-Todd Edition

No one works the Sunday morning talk show circuses better than Arizona Sen. and sore loser John "McNasty" McCain.  When there's bombing a country in the Middle East on the agenda, McNasty (often accompanied by his sidekick South Carolina Sen. Huckleberry Butchmeup*) can be counted on to show up, bitterly wagging his finger at President Obama, whom McNasty will never forgive for beating his wrinkled butt in 2008.

In fact, McNasty holds the record for most appearances on the floundering Press the Meat show, and if yesterday's rub-a-dub with Chuck "Not My Job" Todd on his MSNBC show was any indication, McNasty will continue to be the virtual co-host on that program.  The two engaged in what can only be described as a mutual tongue bath, trading compliments, advice and broad smiles, signaling that Not My Job's tenure at Press the Meat will be little different from the departed Dancin' Dave Gregory's.

Tweedledee Departs, Tweedledum Arrives

The long anticipated canning of NBC's  Press the Meat host David "Dancin' Dave" Gregory is official:  NBC announced his departure from the program and from the network this afternoon.  This follows months of the network letting the arrogant Dancin' Dave twist in the wind as speculation about his future spread.  His replacement, Chuck "Not My Job" Todd, will drop some of his current functions in order to host the program, which slipped during Dancin' Dave's tenure.

As we noted on August 11, NBC may think it's bringing in a fresh perspective, but Not My Job is cut from the same Beltway media, false "centrist" cloth which stubbornly refuses to acknowledge that the Republican / New Confederate / Stupid Party has gone off the political deep end and is on the wrong side of public opinion on virtually every major issue.
