Fact-Checking? Rump Says "No Thanks"
News Item: Neo-fascist mega-liar Donald "Rump" Trump tells fossil Larry King that he supports Fux "News" hack Chris "Lie Squad" Wallace's position not to fact check the candidates in the Fux Presidential debate on October 19, which will turn it into a non-stop lie storm by Rump.
It's been documented by PolitiFact, an independent fact checking organization, that Rump lies 78% of the time (mostly false, false, pants-on-fire), more than any other national politician. No surprise, then, that he wants fact checking to be off-limits in the debates.

Stewart Rips the Fuxers

The incomparable Jon Stewart, in his hilarious Boo Hoo the Hoot Beck imitation, skewers the Fux News parent company NewsCorp's $1 million contribution to the Rethuglican Governors Association. Featured line: "I really think, if anything, the Republicans should be paying FOX News millions and millions of dollars." How true, given all the work Fux has done gratis for the Rethugs.

Compare and Contrast
The Kaplan Daily has two pieces worthy of note today, one in its print edition, one online. Former NY Times executive editor Howell Raines appears in a good online piece wherein he takes mainstream journalists to task for not exposing Fux "News" as a 24/7 propaganda machine, particularly in its undisguised battle to defeat the Democrats health care reform. It's an incisive inside- the- pressroom look at why the silence. File it under "Librul Media."
By contrast, the Kaplan Daily chose to publish in its more widely-read print edition a POS (that we refuse to link to) by concern trolls, Fux News Democrats and corporate shills Patrick Caddell and Doug Schoen. Jumping into the fray at the last minute to try to frighten easily frightened Dems not to pass the health care bill, the dynamic duo pull out every point in the Boehner/ McConnell playbook, as Media Matters demonstrates. We have two questions: (1) what insurance company group or Rethug-front outfit is paying them to write this drivel, and (2) why would the Kaplan Daily chose to publish this when the article by Howell Raines has more insight on the machinations and interdependence of Big Media and the Rethug noise machine, and is therefore more relevant to what's going on today? We report, you decide.

Bad For What Ailes You
Watching Fux "News" Channel chairturd Roger "Jabba" Ailes yesterday on ABC's "This Week" reinforced the fact that his operation is the media arm of the Rethuglican Party. Throughout the panel, Jabba repeatedly and openly defended the programming which has declared political war against the Obama Administration. He even mockingly said Fux was "fair and balanced" -- to the snickers of co-panelists Paul Krugman and Arianna Huffington -- when asked to explain why Fux cut away early from Obama's triumphant smack down of House Rethugs at their Baltimore retreat. He repeated false Rethug talking points about health insurance reform, and proudly dropped the names of his former bosses Tricky Dick Nixon and St. Ronnie Raygun of Hollywood. His defense of the decision to add Alaskan grifter Winky You Betcha to his channel's "commentator" roster was laughable, but it fits his plan to use Fux as a Dem-and-Obama-bashing outlet for at least the next 3 years.

Fux's Greatest Hits
Fux News apologists in the mainstream media like to pretend that there's a "wall" between Fux's numerous far right pundits (Herr Hannity, O'Liely and Boo Hoo Beck) and their "news" organization. It's obvious b.s. -- one only need look at the Teabagger cheerleading and "town hall" disruptions that Fux engaged in to know that they tried to make the news, more than cover it. Here's a sampling of the "news" organization's clearest journeys over the line to advocacy of Rethuglican issues.
