No doubt as a public service, Wonkette has three pieces today on potential Rethug presidential candidates. Just as you would expect, ignorance, hypocrisy, prejudice, and dishonesty are all on full display!

-- Poot Gingrich has new Biblical interpretations to share;

-- Haley "Boss Hogg" Barbour speaks out on abortion, while simultaneously making an abortion of civil rights history; and

-- Tim "No Good 'N'" Pawlenty stands strong against mooslim Americans (or is that an oxymoron for you, Tim?).

Minnesota Rethuglican Governor Tim "No Good 'N'" Pawlenty. Yet another brave, courageous act, sacrificing the interests of his state for his own political benefit! (Wait, isn't that supposed to be the other way around?)

Not All Nuts Are Acorns

Courageous conservative governors Tim "No Good 'N'" Pawlenty and Bobby "Kenneth" Jindal are fightin' the scourge of ACORN (you know, the nazidemosocialist storm troopers of B. Hussein Omuslim -- and Glenn "Boo-Hoo" Beck's fevered imagination). Seems Paw and Kenneth have issued Orders to their gummints to cease and desist ALL CONTACTS with the nefarious ACORNs! ("Huh? Whazzat? Neither Minnesota nor Louisiana have any contacts, contracts, or other 'intercourse' with the ACORNs?!? Shhh! You're spoiling their dramatic moment! YOU LIE!")

Minn. DOT Chief Ousted

The Minnesota State Senate voted yesterday to throw the state's transportation commissioner out of office. Carol Molnau is notorious for refusing funding for her department for roads and bridges. Hmmm... Minnesota... bridges... ring a bell? Molnau was the implementer of "bridge-collapse conservative" Gov. Tim Pawlenty's policy of ignoring the state's aging and underfunded infrastructure. She is remembered for standing smiling behind Bridge Collapse Tim as he vetoed a road spending bill two years ago that would have put funds into, among other things, refurbishing the I-35W bridge that collapsed on August 1, 2007, in Minneapolis. Pawlenty has recently been mentioned as a possible running mate for Walnuts! McCain. What short memories those Rebunglecans have!

Bridges

In the wake of the gruesome collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis yesterday, investigations into the cause of the bridge's collapse are already taking shape. But one thing is clear: this should not be happening in America. Hopefully, those in government who may have been penny-foolish and pound-foolish, like Minnestota Rethug Governor Tim "No New Taxes" Pawlenty ,will be held to account, as appropriate. Those who have engendered a culture of government-on-the-cheap, both in Minnesota and in Washington, D.C., should remember that you get what you pay for; and voters should remember that you get what you vote for.

UPDATE: As Lawyers, Guns and Money points out, it didn't take long for the wingnut Wurlitzer to begin spinning dark conspiracy theories of Islamist "terrists" behind the catastrophic bridge collapse. Please. Can't they give their fevered imaginations and keyboards a rest? More to the point, if this is the ultimate struggle of our civilization, why the hell aren't they in Iraq or Afghanistan fighting it?
