Today's Tweets: McConnell's Party Room Readied

Disabled Americans who rely on Medicaid were hustled away from amoral conniver Mitch "Missy" McConnell's office yesterday so that he wouldn't see them.

The Feckless Fixer Tweet of the Day

The Rethugs' latest excuse for their man in the White (Supremacist) House is as idiotic as he is.

Tweet of the Day: Putin's Useful Idiot

Russian thug Putin apparently continues to play him through fake news stories generated by Russian "bots" which Rump repeats as factual. Far more importantly, Putin can pull some financial strings through his wealthy Russian associates, who have "invested" in the Trump Organization properties, for example. As Uday Donald Trump, Jr. said in 2008,
"Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets; say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia."
There is likely more Russian money involved, laundered through the Bank of Cyprus and Deutche Bank. Rump knows if Putin has the "lot of money pouring in from Russia" stopped, the Trump Organization could collapse, along with Rump's fragile ego. For Rump, having his business collapse is unthinkable, even if possible treason is involved in the bargain. Being "played" through Putin's flattery and supportive hacking is just the tip of the iceberg, guaranteed.

Tweet of the Day

We bid farewell to April and thus to the celebration of treason in defense of slavery. T.S. Eliot famously wrote that "April is the cruelest month," and it certainly is for those of us who have to watch the annual spectacle of racist Confederate flag-wavers and history revisionists who believe in their twisted minds that the right side lost the war.

Tweet Of The Day

Republican politicians like to talk endlessly about "unleashing the free market," and encouraging "job creators," by which they actually mean slashing regulations protecting the public and coddling the economic elites that benefit from Republican tax cuts. Predatory plutocrat Willard "Mittens" Romney and neo-fascist demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump are just the latest to convince large numbers of gullible, God-bothering Bible bangers to vote for them, and thus against their economic well-being and security.

On Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, Some Bitter Irony, Courtesy Of Donald Trump (UPDATED)

Here's how neo- fascist Republican fartbag Donald "Rump" Trump opted to spend Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, surrounded by present and future Stormtrumpers:
Speaking to thousands at Liberty University on Monday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump dedicated breaking the attendance record for the school’s convocations to Martin Luther King, Jr.
It was the only reference Trump made to the historic civil rights leader, who is celebrated on the third Monday of January every year. Instead of honoring King’s legacy, Trump gave what has become his usual stump speech — self-congratulations on leading the polls, followed by a lot of positions that King would have certainly disagreed with.
And Liberty University?  The family grift founded by "Moral Majority" (which was neither) leader Jerry Falwell, and currently run by his twisted spawn?  The friendly place where Sen. "Tailgunner Ted" Cruz chose to kick off his presidential campaign?  Calling John Fugelsang:

UPDATE:  Then there's one of the devout Rump's favorite Bible verses - "two Corinthians."  Was there ever a more transparent buffoon in public life in America?

UPDATE 2:  Inspired by our commenter, we offer this:

Today's Empty Platitude Shaming Tweet

As we noted in the aftermath of the San Bernardino shootings,  N.R.A.- paid- for right- wing pols were getting push back on their rote "thoughts and prayers" reaction to the frequent manifestations of gun violence in America, the same pols who continue to block even the most modest gun control measures, even after San Bernardino. The usual Republican hacks have tried to turn this into "prayer shaming," occasionally joined by embedded Republicans and "both siderists" in the "mainstream media."  Fugelsang's tweet is the most direct and accurate response to their false public piety and to those who would try to make this an issue of "prayer shaming."

BONUS:  Michael Tomasky makes it clear that Rump's politics are neo-fascist. Good read.

Tweet of the Day: Media Horse Racers Saddle Up Rubio

"We decide, you abide."  Shades of 2000, when the "mainstream" media fell in love with the boorish Governor of Texas' folksy b.s. and contrived swagger, while mocking Vice President Gore for everything from his clothing choices to their false accusations that he claimed credit for inventing the Internet.

"Chump" Rump Tweet of the Day

The right-wing Club for (Plutocrat) Growth has been running ads against sociopathic blowhard Donald "Rump" Trump in early caucus/primary states.  Rump's wealth puts them out of the Club's reach, and they clearly see him as someone who has turned on his "class" with his faux "populism."  Enjoy the pure schadenfreude.

Delete Tweet of the Day

Beltway media resentment at Bill Clinton and now Hillary Clinton will be a fact of life through the election, and likely beyond.  They snubbed the major media's Georgetown cocktail circuit in the '90s, ably represented by Sally Quinn, Cokie Roberts and Maureen Dowd, and that clique has a very long memory.

BONUS:  Case in point - pearl clutcher emeritus Ruth Marcus.

BONUS II:  Here's Joe Conason (please read his entire post):
Obscured by sensational and often stupid media coverage, the fundamental facts are simple. There is no evidence that Hillary Clinton violated any law in her use of a private email server, however badly advised. There is no evidence that she knowingly sent any previously classified information to anyone at any time. There is no evidence that any national security breach occurred in her email system. And there is no statute under which she can be held liable for sending information that was retroactively classified, many months after she sent it, when the State Department was reviewing her emails for public release.
The true scandal is the Republican attempt to invent a scandal that will derail the Democratic presidential candidate they fear most, by misusing the oversight powers of Congress—and the eagerness of major media outlets, including the nation’s most important newspaper, to collude in that scheme.

Fugelsang-ing Quote of the Day

“Sean Hannity’s standing up for a lawless, socialist welfare queen.  Sean Hannity has one job: to keep people who were wrong about everything for the last 20 years thinking they’ve been right about everything. His show is like an IV drip for denial for the ‘get off my lawn’ demographic.”  -- comedian John Fugelsang on last night's Hardball (with Steve Kornaki guest hosting), mocking Hannity's embrace of nut job mooching rancher Cliven Bundy.
